Privacy Policy
Nestic helps people share everyday care updates in a private nest. This policy explains what information Nestic collects, why it is used, and the choices available to you.
Information you provide
- Account information: email address, display name, password hash, account timestamps, and—when you use Sign in with Apple—the Apple account identifier and any name or relay email Apple provides.
- Nest information: nest names, members and roles, subjects such as pets or people, tracker definitions, activity entries, values, notes, and timestamps.
- Optional photos: photos you choose for a subject. Photos are compressed by the app before upload and stored as private objects in Cloudflare R2. The database stores a reference to the object rather than the photo bytes.
- Purchases: subscription entitlement information needed to enable paid prediction features. Apple processes payments; Nestic does not receive your payment card number.
How we use information
We use this information to authenticate you, operate your nests, show shared updates to authorized nest members, synchronize activity between devices, store optional subject photos, provide customer support, protect the service from abuse, and provide features you enable.
Prediction features use the selected entity's own activity history and are calculated on the device. Predictions are estimates for planning and are not medical, veterinary, or emergency advice.
Who can see your information
Your nest information is visible to the members of that nest according to their role. We do not sell personal information and do not use it for third-party advertising. We use service providers to operate Nestic, including Railway for the API and database hosting, Cloudflare for private photo storage, and Apple for Sign in with Apple and subscription processing. These providers process information only as needed to provide their services.
Security
Nestic uses HTTPS in production, authenticated API access, password hashing, private object storage, access checks for shared nests, and rate limits for sensitive endpoints. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so please use a unique password and do not share it.
Retention and deletion
We retain account and nest information while it is needed to provide the service. You can permanently delete your account from Your nest → Account data in the app. Private nests and their activity are deleted with the account; shared nests are transferred to another member when possible, and activity created by the deleted account is retained without that account as its active owner. Photo cleanup is performed when the related private data is deleted. Provider backups may retain encrypted copies for a limited period under the provider's backup lifecycle.
Apple sign-in
If you choose Sign in with Apple, Apple authenticates you and may provide a private relay email address. You can use that Apple identity to create an account or link it to an existing Nestic account. Nestic does not receive your Apple password.
Children
Nestic is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can review it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Nestic changes. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated in the app or on this page when appropriate.
